18th July 2020 – (Hong Kong) At 1.42pm this afternoon (18th), off the pier of the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, a boat suddenly caught fire. The fire spread fast due to strong wind, and raging flames and black smoke swept through the air, alarming many citizens to report the case.

Upon seeing this, the crew of a neighbouring boat tried to put out the fire. The fireboat subsequently rushed to the scene and extinguished the flame. No one was injured in the incident and no one was evacuated. After preliminary investigation, firefighters suspected the short circuit of an electric fan on board of the boat.
