24th February 2024 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong Customs issued a warning today, urging the public to remain vigilant against a deceptive WeChat official account impersonating the genuine Hong Kong Customs channel. The department emphasised the importance of avoiding scams and taking necessary precautions.

To ensure authenticity, Hong Kong Customs has established official social media accounts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Douyin, and WeChat. This enables individuals to stay well-informed about essential Customs-related matters.

It is crucial to note that these official accounts are not intended for reporting crimes, making inquiries, or filing complaints. In case of criminal incidents, the public is advised to contact Customs’ dedicated 24-hour hotline at (+852) 2545 6182, or reach out via email at [email protected], or submit a report through the online form available at eform.cefs.gov.hk/form/ced002/.
