Beacon Café in Ching Long Shopping Centre falls victim to burglary, two mobile phones stolen


18th June 2024 – (Hong Kong) Beacon Café at Shop A104, 1/F, Ching Long Shopping Centre in Kai Ching Estate, Kowloon City, fell victim to a burglary incident at around 6.57am today (18th). As employees returned to prepare for the opening of the restaurant, they discovered signs of ransacking and attempted tampering with the cash register. Concerned, they immediately reported the incident for assistance. Upon arrival, authorities commenced an investigation and reviewed the CCTV footage to piece together the sequence of events.

Preliminary findings suggest that around 4am this morning, while the kitchen staff member returned to unlock and prepare ingredients, the thief took advantage of their distraction and stealthily entered the premises. The perpetrator attempted to pry open the cash register but failed, ultimately fleeing the scene with two mobile phones that were within reach.
