3rd August 2020 – (Hong Kong) The COVID-19 epidemic in Hong Kong continues to be severe. The government announced in the evening (3rd) that the ban on dine-in services in restaurans from 6pm to 5am and limit per table to 2 pax during daytime will continue for another week till 11th August. Mandatory wearing of masks in public places (indoors and outdoors) and closure 14 types of listed premises, and other measures will also be extended by one week to the 11th of this month.
A government spokesperson announced that it will extend the measures under the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Requirements and Instructions) (Business and Premises) Regulations (Cap 599F), the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Regulations (Cap 599G) and the instructions and specifications under the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Wearing Masks) Regulations (Chapter 599I) and they will be gazetted to continue the existing social distancing measures.
The above extension of measures will take effect from 0:00 on the 5th of this month for a period of 7 days until the 11th of this month.
