Audi to invest €1 billion in electric vehicle projects in Mexico’s Puebla state

12th June 2024 – (New Mexico) German car manufacturer Audi has revealed plans to invest €1 billion ($1.08 billion) in electric vehicle projects within Mexico’s Puebla state, as confirmed by the state’s governor on Tuesday. The investment is expected to create 500 new job opportunities, according to a statement from the Puebla government.

Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen group, currently operates a manufacturing plant in the town of San Jose Chiapa in Puebla, Mexico. The facility employs approximately 5,000 individuals, as per company data. This significant investment demonstrates Audi’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle portfolio and supporting the growth of sustainable mobility solutions.
