24th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) In a traffic incident that took place today (24th), around 7am, at the intersection of Nathan Road and Waterloo Road in Yau Ma Tei, a black Audi sedan was traveling towards Prince Edward when it suddenly veered into the opposite lane, crashing into a roadside barrier and damaging the front of the vehicle. Shockingly, the driver abandoned the scene. Footage provided by other drivers suggests that the Audi was possibly chasing a white private car before colliding with the barrier.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, police officers discovered several suspicious tools inside. According to eyewitnesses, two men who had been inside the Audi fled the scene after the accident. After a search of the vehicle, the police found fake licence plates, two knives, and an extendable baton, classifying the case as “possession of offensive weapons in a public place.” Subsequently, the police initiated a pursuit in the Yau Tsim Mong district, and with the help of surveillance technology, they tracked down two men fleeing towards Bute Street. One suspect was apprehended in an alley behind No. 734 Nathan Road, while the other was found hiding in a restroom of a commercial building at 16 Mong Kok Road. The latter attempted to escape but was eventually captured by law enforcement.
