Arsonist set fire to a goldsmith’s shop in Kwai Chung, 16 people evacuated


11th December 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 6pm yesterday, a goldsmith’s shop located on the ground floor of a building at Kwong Fai Circuit in Kwai Chung caught fire and explosion sound was heard. Residents nearby immediately called the police for help. Firemen received report and rushed to the scene to put out the flames after 16 minutes. Around 16 people were evacuated to a safe place.

According to sources, the goldsmith’s shop already closed for business for the day and no one was injured in the incident. Police suspected that the fire was caused by arson. No one has been arrested yet.
