19th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) 33-year-old social media infleuncer Joseph Lam-chok, who recently ventured into the cryptocurrency market and opened a crypto trading company in Central, was implicated in the JPEX case and arrested yesterday (18th) on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud. Following a search conducted at his office in the Entertainment Building in Central yesterday morning, he was taken to the Central Police Station for overnight detention and was not granted bail throughout the period. His girlfriend, Hiromi Wada, delivered char siu rice and iced lemon tea to the police station last night, stating that she was keeping abreast of Lam-chok’s situation through their lawyer and assuring that “he’s okay now.”
It was reported that Lam-chok was granted bail and released around 9pm this evening (19th), with a bail amount of several hundred thousand dollars to be paid. Hiromi was seen entering the police station premises with a lawyer earlier this evening. Seven other individuals including Chan Yee arrested in connection with the case have also been granted bail and must report to the authorities in mid-October.
Close to 10pm, the man who arrived at the police station with Hiromi parked his private car at the exit. Suddenly, Joseph Lam Chok swiftly emerged from inside and boarded the man’s car before leaving.
