Around 300 graduates from The Chinese University of Hong Kong march around campus to show solidarity with arrested students

7th November 2019 – (Hong Kong) Student graduates at The Chinese University of Hong Kong started to march around campus this morning to show solidarity with students who were arrested during the pro-democracy movement. Around 300 participating students walked from MTR University Station from 9am to the venue of the graduation ceremony in the university.

Part of the students wore graduation gowns and clad in white masks and white ribbons. Some wore full masks and protective headgears. Placards with anti-government slogans were held by students. Meanwhile, a man who claimed to be from The Chinese University of Hong Kong wielded a knife and sang the National Anthem. When asked as to why he was armed, he said there were incidents of protesters who harmed others for political differences and hence, he wanted to protect himself. He was interviewed by some media reporters before being taken away by security guards.
