Around 1,000 protesters gather at Tamar Park to pay their last respect to Alex Chow who fell from Sheung Tak carpark


9th November 2019 – (Hong Kong) The death of the 22-year-old student, Alex Chow from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology  (HKUST) has angered many pro-democracy supporters. They attributed his death to police brutality. Memorial services turned clashes took place at multiple districts yesterday and police arrested many rioters.

Close to 1,000 protesters gathered at Tamar Park in Admiralty this evening to pay their last respect to Alex Chow and also others who sacrificed their lives during the pro-democracy movement. Police issued letter of no objection to the organiser of the event. Protesters are allowed to gather from 6pm to 9.30pm tonight. The CCTV footage from the Sheung Tak carpark was screened at 6.15pm to show moments before Alex fell to his death.
