Armed Fujian triad members assault protester clad in black in Fortress Hill MTR Station while police allegedly turn a blind eye

15th September 2019 – (Hong Kong) Fulian triads gathered near Fortress Hill MTR Station before commencing assaults on protesters clad in black. Armed with stools and steel rods, they stormed into Fortress Hill MTR Station to attack protesters at around 7.55pm. Police officers allegedly turned a blind eye to their presence. One riot police again was seen given a pat on the shoulder of a Fujian triad member. A protester was arrested while riot police allegedly sent off the Fujian triad members.

At 8.05pm, the triad members continued to wait at Fortress Hill MTR station to launch assault on protesters. Four triad members allegedly assaulted reporters. Meanwhile, 60 riot police entered Fortress Hill MTR Station at 8.20pm. The man who attacked reporters was allowed to leave by riot police.

Riot police gathered on Chun Yeung Street in North Point at 8.30pm. At 9pm, Hospital Authority announced that 8 people were injured, 3 were in serious condition while 3 were stable. The others were discharged from hospitals. Another two were engaged in a fight at 9.23pm.
