AOS Management (HK) Limited to operate and maintain Avenue of Stars and Salisbury Garden in Tsim Sha Tsui

18th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has announced its acceptance of a proposal from non-profit organisation AOS Management (HK) Limited for the management, operation, and maintenance of the prominent Avenue of Stars (AoS) and Salisbury Garden (SG) located at Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront. This 15-year agreement will commence on 20th April, consisting of an initial fixed term of eight years, followed by a subsequent term of seven years, subject to renewal based on a performance review conducted by the Government.

AOS Management (HK) Limited’s proposal outlines plans for continuous beautification efforts at the AoS and SG, aimed at elevating the Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront into a vibrant public space that harmoniously integrates arts, culture, tourism, leisure, and sports. The goal is to establish an irresistible attraction for both local residents and tourists worldwide. Furthermore, the organisation commits to promoting Hong Kong’s film and pop culture through a diverse range of events.

Last August, the LCSD initiated an invitation for non-profit organisations to submit proposals for the management, operation, and maintenance of the AoS and SG. The objective was to identify the most suitable non-profit operator. A briefing session was conducted on 21st September, 2023, followed by the receipt of one eligible proposal by the deadline of 23rd November, 2023. An assessment panel meticulously evaluated and considered the submitted proposal against pre-established assessment criteria.

The current contract for management, operation, and maintenance will conclude tomorrow, on 19th April. With the new agreement, AOS Management (HK) Limited is poised to take charge of these iconic waterfront destinations, with a vision of transforming them into a thriving hub of cultural significance and global appeal. The LCSD anticipates a seamless transition and looks forward to witnessing the realisation of the proposed enhancements under the management of AOS Management (HK) Limited.
