18th November 2021 – (Hong Kong) Herbert Chow, who runs the local Chickeeduck clothing chain announced today that all its physical stores will be closed in the second half of next year. Only the Tin Hau branch may remain as a museum and the online store will continue to operate. Chow claimed that in the past year and a half, many factories of the company have been continuously harassed, and Indonesian manufacturers have also received discredited reports from the pro-Chinese media, which seriously affected the company’s supply. He also mentioned that he has made more political voices and employees have also been harassed.
Chickeeduck currently has 5 physical stores in Hong Kong, including 3 children’s clothing stores and 2 art and lifestyle stores, located in Causeway Bay, Tin Hau, Kowloon Tong, Tung Chung and Tsuen Wan. Chow emphasised that the arrangements for closing of the physical stores are in order, and the employees will be paid and rent will be paid until the last day. As for how the business will be run in the future, he said that it is still in the planning stage: “We will continue to exist.”
In October this year, a Chickeeduck company employee revealed that he has long had an extramarital affair with a married female subordinate, Yuki. He often drove the woman back to her Yuen Long’s home.
