Anti-extradition protests have affected business sentiments, according to President of Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium Business

22nd June 2019 – (Hong Kong) Mr Joe Chau, President of Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium Business expressed during a TV interview today that the anti-extradition protests in the past week have affected the sentiments of overseas merchants.

Some of them have refused to come to Hong Kong to negotiate businesses due to the protests. The situation is worsened as trade war between US and China escalates. He hoped that government would come up with new measures in their next policy announcement to improve the business environment of Hong Kong and to rebuild its image.
