28th August 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has announced the highly anticipated participation of American a cappella sensation, Naturally 7, in the upcoming Great Music 2023 event. Scheduled for late September, the group will astound music lovers in Hong Kong with their awe-inspiring performance, featuring their signature “vocal play” technique and an exclusive repertoire created specifically for this tour.
With their unique style of “vocal play,” Naturally 7 has taken the world by storm, captivating audiences across the globe. Going beyond conventional singing, the group skillfully transforms the human voice into a full-fledged orchestra, emulating instruments like drums, guitars, harmonicas, trombones, and even DJ scratching. Incorporating elements of rap and R&B, Naturally 7 elevates the concept of a cappella, transforming it into a mesmerizing ensemble experience. During the concert, in addition to delivering beloved classics like “Fix You” and popular film songs, the group will unveil their latest compositions, promising an auditory feast for concertgoers.
Founded in 1999 by brothers Roger and Warren Thomas, Naturally 7 quickly gained recognition and earned prestigious accolades in the a cappella world. The group’s innovative approach to music has garnered them Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards, while also providing opportunities to share the stage with renowned pop artists and bands such as Michael Bublé and Coldplay. Naturally 7 has graced some of the biggest stages worldwide, including the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010 and the Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in 2017. “A Cappella Concert by Naturally 7” will take place on 28th September (Thursday) at 8pm captivating the audience at the Concert Hall of Hong Kong City Hall. The performance, lasting approximately one hour and 45 minutes, with a 15-minute intermission, guarantees an unforgettable evening. As part of the program, Naturally 7 will also host a captivating workshop titled “Vocal Infinity” (conducted in English). During the workshop, the group members will share insights into their artistic journey and showcase their extraordinary “vocal play” skills.
