Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal issued by HK Observatory, thunderstorms to continue


12th May 2022 – (Hong Kong) Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal has been issued by Hong Kong Observatory at 12.10pm. The Rainstorm Warning Signal is now Amber. This means that heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 30 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.

Thunderstorm Warning was issued at 11pm on 10th May 2022 has been extended until 2pm today. Squally thunderstorms are expected to occur over Hong Kong. 

There will be heavy showers and squally thunderstorms tomorrow and through weekend. Showers will ease off and temperatures will fall to around 19 degrees on Monday.

Members of the public are advised to report any street flooding that comes to their notice to the Drainage Services Department by calling the 24-hour drainage hotline on 2300 1110.
