1st October 2023 – (Hong Kong) Kai Tak’s highly-anticipated Airside Commercial Complex is now open. Spanning across a vast area of 1.9 million square feet, Airside combines Grade A office spaces, a shopping mall, and an interconnected underground shopping street.
The Airside Commercial Complex, located in the heart of Kowloon, adjacent to the MTR Kai Tak Station, offers convenient access to both the city centre and cross-border transportation networks. The 47-storey complex, designed by renowned architecture firm Snøhetta, features 32 floors of Grade A office spaces and a sprawling 700,000 square feet shopping mall. It aims to become a new cultural and leisure landmark in Kowloon, catering to the daily needs of visitors from the district and beyond.
Emphasising the concept of “Wholeness,” Airside incorporates over 10,000 square feet of dedicated space for arts and culture, including the GATE33 Art Gallery curated by Airside’s professional art team. Additionally, the complex features a 6,000-square-foot urban farm, providing a unique and sustainable experience for visitors.
The highly anticipated shopping mall at Airside, occupying 700,000 square feet, boasts a wide range of brands and establishments. Among the notable tenants are the MCL AIRSIDE Cinema, which includes seven cinemas, MUJI’s 12,000 square feet flagship store, German premium home appliance brand Miele, Asia’s first experiential concept boutique store by Nespresso, B’IN Select offering original design lifestyle products, and a limited-time store by Taiwan’s design shopping website Pinkoi. Furthermore, the mall will house a large indoor surfing venue, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, providing an exciting and unique experience for surf enthusiasts.
The Airside Commercial Complex, with its grand opening on 28th September, occupies a total of 1.9 million square feet and stands as a comprehensive commercial landmark in Kai Tak. The Airside development is centred around the concept of “Wholeness” and includes over 10,000 square feet of dedicated space for arts and culture. Additionally, Airside features a 6,000-square-foot urban farm, further enhancing its commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.

Alongside a 25,000 square feet city’super supermarket, Airside is also home to Nespresso’s first concept store in Asia, showcasing their sustainable recycling system, Re:Farm, which converts used coffee capsules into fertiliser for urban farming within the complex. Another highlight is the expansive 12,000 square feet MUJI store, offering the brand’s signature apparel, home essentials, and lifestyle products. Within the store, customers can also find a free water refill station and a coffee machine that accepts Octopus card payments for convenient on-the-go coffee purchases.
In addition to these offerings, Airside will host a variety of homegrown brands, including popular lifestyle stores like Homeless, B’IN Select, White Concept House, and Garian, as well as pet-related shops catering to the needs of pets and their owners. These include Hola il colpo Hair & Pets, a pet groomer, All Japan Pet, a Japanese pet clothing store, Ruff & Fetch, a pet washing and supply store, and Purr’Licious, an exclusive space offering cat snacks, toys, and eco-friendly products.
With around 40 dining establishments, Airside provides a plethora of culinary options to suit every taste. From Asian delicacies to international cuisine, speciality bakeries, trendy cafes, al fresco dining, and local bites, visitors will find an array of choices. Notable dining destinations include Nana’s green tea, a modern Japanese teahouse by Cafe Deco Group, Airside Cafe with its in-house boutique.
