3rd April 2024 – (Hong Kong) At around 10pm yesterday, an 80-year-old man was admitted to the emergency room at Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai seeking medical attention for a neck injury sustained during a suspected robbery incident at The Peak. Medical staff discovered an approximately 10-centimetre-long wound on the man’s neck, believed to have been caused by a sharp instrument.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary information suggests that the incident occurred around 7pm on the same day. The elderly man had been hiking at The Peak before heading to The Peak Public Transport Terminus with the intention of taking a bus down the mountain. However, he was suddenly confronted by three non-Chinese individuals who allegedly threatened him with a sharp weapon, forcibly taking his wallet, mobile phone, and other valuables. Subsequently, the man, injured and shaken, managed to board a bus to Wan Chai where he sought medical help at Ruttonjee Hospital and reported the incident to the police.
