784 COVID-19 cases detected in Macao since 18th June, multiple rounds of universal testing to be conducted next week


3rd July 2022 – (Macao) The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced today (3rd) that 90 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the past day, bringing the total to 784 since the 18th of June. 60 of the new cases were found in the community, 30 found during quarantine. In the coming week, multiple rounds of universal testing will be conducted, and infants and young children aged 0 to 3 will be exempted from testing.

In addition, the mainland sent 650 sampling personnel to support the fight against the epidemic, of which 150 advance personnel had arrived earlier, and the remaining 500 sampling personnel had also arrived today. The first round of universal testing will start from Monday to Tuesday (4th to 5th), the second round is from Wednesday to Thursday (6th to 7th), and the last round is scheduled for Friday to Saturday (8th to 9th).

The time of each round of testing will start 9am to 6pm the next day. In this three rounds of universal testing, anti-epidemic kits will be distributed to citizens, and citizens can collect them together when they register at respective testing stations. 5 rapid antigen test (RAT) kits will be distributed in the first round, 10 KN95 masks will be distributed in the second round, and 5 RAT kits will be distributed in the third round.
