77-year-old male patient reported missing from Queen Elizabeth Hospital


23rd May 2024 – (Hong Kong) Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) has reported that a 77-year-old male patient went missing from the Emergency Medicine ward without notifying hospital staff. The incident occurred today at approximately 1.40pm ocal time, leaving hospital authorities deeply worried about the patient’s welfare.

As soon as the patient’s absence was discovered, ward staff promptly alerted security guards who initiated a thorough search within the hospital premises and surrounding areas. Unfortunately, their efforts yielded no results thus far. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, QEH has taken immediate actions to address the incident. The hospital has reached out to the patient’s relatives and friends to gather any relevant information and has also notified the Police, who will collaborate with the hospital in the search operation.

The missing patient is described as approximately 1.7 meters tall, weighing around 80 kilograms, with short white hair. At the time of departure, he was wearing a black-and-white striped long-sleeved t-shirt, a black down vest, and black pants.

In a bid to locate the individual swiftly, QEH appeals to the public for assistance. Anyone with information about the patient’s whereabouts is urged to contact the QEH Security Department at 3506 8944. Alternatively, they can reach out to emergency services by dialing 999.
