73-year-old actor Lee Lung Kei’s fiancée Chris Wang faces overstaying charges, next court date on 19th June


    28th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) 73-year-old Hong Kong actor Lee Lung-kei’s 36-year-old fiancée, Chris Wang, was recently prosecuted by the Immigration Department on charges of overstaying, using false documents, and other offences. The case was brought before the Sha Tin Magistrates’ Courts for mention this morning. During the proceedings, the defence and prosecution engaged in plea negotiations, leading to a request for an adjournment. The judge subsequently postponed the case until the 19th of June, with Wang remaining in custody.

    Lee Lung-kei was present in court this morning to support his fiancée. Wang, aged 36, faces a total of seven charges, including two counts of breaching stay conditions, one count of making false statements to obtain an entry permit, one count of using false documents, one count of possessing false documents, one count of making false representations to an immigration officer acting in accordance with or for the purpose of executing the Immigration Ordinance, and one count of remaining in Hong Kong for employment as a domestic worker beyond the permitted stay period.

    The prosecution confirmed their readiness to hear the defendant’s plea, while the defence revealed ongoing plea negotiations with the prosecution and requested a three-week adjournment. The judge granted the adjournment, setting the next hearing for the 19th of June, during which Wang will remain in custody.
