16th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) Outside Shatin Magistrates’ Courts this morning, 73-year-old Hong Kong actor Lee Lung-kei was seen visibly distressed as he attended the hearing of his 36-year-old fiancée, Chris Wang, who faces multiple charges including overstaying her visa and using false documents. The case, which has grabbed local headlines, saw another twist today as Wang was slapped with an additional charge, with proceedings postponed to 28th May.

Dressed in a striking purple designer shirt and denim jeans, Lee carried a briefcase, his attire a deliberate choice to reassure Wang of his presence and support during the court session. “She needs support and I am her biggest supporter,” Lee stated, his emotion palpable as he often paused to dab at tears with a tissue.

Lee, who continues to work predominantly in mainland China, mentioned that he now only accepts day jobs that allow him to return immediately, ensuring he can visit Wang regularly. “I visit her every day,” he shared, highlighting the depth of his commitment during this trying period.

Responding to media queries about needing consolation, Lee remarked that while he generally manages well, there are moments when the situation overwhelms him. “Okay, I am fine, though sometimes it gets a bit too much,” he admitted.
