70-year-old taxi driver robbed of a few hundred in cash by 4 others in Mei Foo

15th February 2020 – (Hong Kong) A 70-year-old taxi driver was robbed of several hundred in cash by a man near Mei Foo Sun Chuen in Broadway after 12am today. The taxi driver fetched 2 South Asians and 2 local men to Cheung Sha Wan and when they were to get off, one of the local men opened the passenger door in front and snatched the taxi driver’s waist bag containing HK$600. The taxi driver then pursued them on foot while they subsequently got away.

The taxi driver sustained hand and foot injuries but he refused to be admitted to hospital. Police are currently hunting for the 4 suspects in their 20s with an average height of 1.7m.

On a funny note, the taxi driver’s surname is Shan which means ‘God’ in Chinese which is very rare in China.
