7 fined during anti-epidemic operation by police, Mainland Chinese arrested for using false Vaccine Pass

25th June 2022 – (Hong Kong) New Territories South Region Anti-Triad Action Team, Tactical Force, Tsuen Wan Police District Anti-Triad Action Team, Special Duties Team and Miscellaneous Investigation Team launched a joint operation last night (24th) to inspect many dining establishments in Tsuen Wan District , bars and mahjong parlours, and take enforcement actions and remind the public to strictly comply with the epidemic prevention regulations.

During the operation, the police found 4 male customers (aged 46 to 69) who did not use LeaveHomeSafe app at a restaurant in Yi Pei Square, and 2 male staff (aged 21 to 38) who failed to comply with the requirements in the “Vaccine Pass”.

They were suspected of contravening the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation and were issued with fixed penalty notices. At the same time, the police also discovered that the restaurant’s licence had expired, and the person in charge of the restaurant will be prosecuted. In addition, the police found a mainland male customer in a mahjong parlour on Ho Pui Street who was suspected of using the Vaccine Pass belonging to another person. He was arrested on suspicion of “using false documents” and “overstaying”.
