26th January 2023 – (Kuala Lumpur) The 61-year-old Hong Kong singer and actor Andy Lau married Malaysian wife Carol Chu who who had been with him for decades in 2008. Almost every Lunar New Year, Andy Lau would accompany his wife Chu to go back to Malaysia, and was even witnessed many times having dinner with Chu’s relatives and friends during the New Year. He also visited local temples to worship and pray for blessings. This year, Andy Lau also returned to Malaysia to celebrate the Lunar New Yeaer.
According to online video footage, Andy Lau appeared today at Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall in Kuala Lumpur, accompanied by the founder of Berjaya Group, tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan, a crony who is closely linked to the ousted former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr.Mahathir to pray for blessings.
Andy Lau was seen wearing a grey jacket with a white T-shirt and jeans. He was also wearing white mask.
In 2008, Lau married Malaysian Chinese Carol Chu after 24 years of speculation over their relationship. Both are vegetarian and devout Buddhists. The couple married in Las Vegas. On 9th May 2012, Chu gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Hanna. In January 2017, Lau was seriously injured after being thrown off and stomped by a horse during a commercial shoot in Khao Lak, an area three hours outside of Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok. However, Lau was able to fully return to work in August 2017, stating he has recovered 95 per cent from his injuries and has fully recovered by the end of the year.
