61 year old drug mule arrested at airport for smuggling 6.36kg of cocaine worth HK$6m from South Africa


29th May 2019 – (Hong Kong) Anti-narcotics police arrested a 61 year old unemployed man who attempted to smuggle 6.36kg cocaine into Hong Kong International Airport. Initial investigations revealed that the drug mule was paid HK$50,000. The drugs were hidden 12 water filters inside his luggage. He stayed in South Africa for 4 days before flying back to Hong Kong.

The street value of the cocaine is estimated at HK$6m.
