30th January 2023 – (Hong Kong) With the gradual border reopening between Mainland and Hong Kong, inbound tourism in Hong Kong has slowly recovered. To meet operational needs, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will hold a large-scale job fair during an “Open Day” on the 2nd of February for the first time in the park, providing more than 600 full-time and part-time positions via on-the-spot interviews. Cheng, Director of Recruitment, Salary and Welfare of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort said that the number of quotas is calculated based on factors such as new attractions in the park this year and latest border reopening situation. The park will consider whether to launch a recruitment exercise again depending on the actual number of tourists after border reopening and the operational needs of the park. Cheng said that the 600 full-time and part-time job vacancies mainly include front-line entertainers and staff involved in park operations, hotel operations, catering, technicians, security guards, etc. On the same day, many social welfare organisations, colleges and universities, and performing arts colleges will be invited for cooperation to introduce applicants.
If applicants fail to attend the open day on the 2nd of next month, they can attend the on-site interview at the Hong Kong Disneyland recruitment centre from 9.30am to 4.30pm from the 6th to the 9th of the next month, or call to inquire and register for other interview dates. In terms of basic salaries and benefits, Cheng said that the base salary has increased compared with the past. The starting salary of full-time entry-level positions including transportation allowance is about 15,000 to 20,000 Hong Kong dollars per month. Technical jobs such as chefs or technicians are negotiable based on experience, but all full-time positions can enjoy a 5-day work week. The hourly salary for part-time jobs is about HK$73 to HK$100, and there is also a daily transportation allowance. Some positions only need to work on weekdays, and they can take weekends off.
In addition, some positions will be given a welcome bonus of HK$3,000 to HK$6,000, which will be paid in stages after recruitment. Coinciding with the 18th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland, Cheng said that there will be a series of exciting events this year, including the “Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend 2023” marathon event held in March, while Duffy’s newest friend “StellaLou” will also join the Hong Kong Ballet in April in the “StellaLou’s Wonderful Wishes Ballet” specially prepared for the park. In May, the Avengers will interact with guests in an unprecedented way. The long-awaited Frozen-themed land, World of Frozen, will have its grand opening during the second half of this year.
