6 hikers trapped on Lantau Island while 4 Civil Aid Service members stuck at Pat Sin Leng Country Park due to severe weather

19th April 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 5pm today, 5 women and 1 man who were hiking near Yellow Dragon Stream Waterfall, Lantau Island called police for help when they were trapped due to severe weather conditions. Government Flying services sent rescue helicopter and located them at around 6pm. They were airlifted to Tung Chung base. All of them were not injured.

In a separate incident, 4 members of the Civil Aid Service were trapped while patrolling at Pat Sin Leng Country Park due to flash flood this afternoon. Other members of the Civil Aid Service were notified to locate them. All of them successfully returned to their headquarters without injuries.
