59-year-old patient leaves Kwong Wah Hospital without notification, prompts urgent appeal

26th November 2023 – (Hong Kong) Kwong Wah Hospital (KWH) found itself grappling with an incident involving a patient who left the premises without prior notification. The hospital’s spokesperson issued an appeal today, on 26th November, urging the public’s assistance in locating the individual.

The patient in question, a 59-year-old male, departed from KWH at approximately 6.15pm, while receiving treatment in the Surgical Ward. Despite the prompt mobilisation of security guards to conduct a thorough search of the hospital compound, their efforts proved fruitless. Deeply concerned by the unfolding situation, KWH promptly reported the incident to the local authorities, specifically the Police.

Descriptions have been provided to aid in the identification of the missing patient. Standing at about 1.68 meters in height, he possesses a slender physique and sports short hair. Notably, he was last seen wearing a blue windbreaker.

Recognising the criticality of the situation, Kwong Wah Hospital earnestly appeals to the public for their cooperation and assistance. Individuals who possess any information regarding the patient’s whereabouts are urged to contact the Yau Ma Tei Police Station at 3661 1652. Alternatively, they may also reach out to emergency services by dialing 999.
