56-year-old seafarer charged for peeping at woman in Cheung Chau public toilet


20th May 2022 – (Hong Kong) A seafarer was charged with voyeurism after he was accused of peeping at a woman in a public toilet in Cheung Chau in February this year. The case appeared the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts today (20th). The magistrate adjourned the case to 5th July for further mention, pending the defence’s request for documents from the prosecution and legal advice to the defendant. During this period, the accused is released on HK$1,000 bail pending trial.

The 56-year-old defendant Lau, who reported as a seafarer, was accused of peeping X in the women’s public toilet on the 1st floor of No. 119Y Sun Hing Back Street, Cheung Chau on 3rd February, 2022. It is reported that the female victim was going to use the toilet at the time, but she heard a strange noise from the toilet. When she opened the door and looked around, she found the defendant standing outside the toilet.
