51-year-old British driver arrested for suspected drink driving in Chep Lap Kok

16th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) A traffic accident occurred yesterday (15th) evening, involving a collision between two private vehicles. According to reports, at around 10pm, a 40-year-old man surnamed Chung was driving his private car along Airport Road towards the airport. As he approached the intersection with Cheong Wan Road, another private car traveling towards Kowloon along Cheong Wan Road allegedly failed to brake in time, resulting in the collision.

Chung sustained injuries to his neck and was immediately transported to North Lantau Hospital for medical treatment by an ambulance.

Police officers arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. The driver of the other vehicle, a 51-year-old British national, reportedly failed the breathalyser test and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of “driving under the influence.” She is currently being detained for further investigation.
