2nd February 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong government today (2nd) officially announced the publicity strategy, promotional activities and measures for the “Hello, Hong Kong” promotion campaign to woo tourists to Hong Kong. Starting from the 1st of next month, the authorities will distribute 500,000 air tickets to passengers within 6 months. It is hoped that the winners will bring their relatives and friends to visit Hong Kong. It is believed that more than 1.5 million tourists will come to Hong Kong, which is estimated to account for 10% of the passenger flow in the next six months.
The Hong Kong government will also launch an air ticket lottery in the summer, each giving away about 80,000 free air tickets to Hong Kong residents and residents of the Greater Bay Area. The air tickets given to passengers will be distributed by 3 local airlines. The airlines will conduct various promotions through overseas offices and agents in accordance with different laws and regulations in various places, including large-scale lucky draws, first-come-first-served registration, games and other different activities. The Airport Authority issued a total of more than 700,000 air tickets. According to the authorities, Asia accounted for 75% of the number of visitors to Hong Kong before the COVID-19 epidemic. After referring to the number of tourists before the epidemic, air tickets will first be distributed in Southeast Asia, such as Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, etc., followed the Mainland and other Northeast Asian regions.
In addition, the Hong Kong government will initially provide more than 16,000 store discounts to tourists. Starting at 5pm today, the vouchers were distributed to tourists at the 3 ports and Tsim Sha Tsui.
