2nd February 2023 – (Hong Kong) At around 2.34am today, a 40-year-old man was found by a friend lying unconscious in a white private car at an open area in Pat Heung Sheung Tsuen. The paramedics arrived at the scene after receiving the report. After inspection, the victim was certified dead and a pot filled with burned charcoal was found in the vehicle.
Officers seized a suicide note at the scene, and believed that the victim committed suicide by burning charcoal in the car. The victim’s wife was notified later and rushed to the scene to understand the incident. According to sources, the male deceased was suspected to have a mistress. The two had rented a village house nearby but the girlfriend committed suicide in the residence a few months ago. The male victim committed suicide by burning charcoal after being affected by the incident.
