4 South Asian robbers make off with 50 watches worth over HK$10 million from watch shop in CKE Shopping Mall next to Chungking Mansions (Updated: 5.30pm)

25th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) Four South Asian men robbed RWW Watch Company at Unit 206-208, second floor of CKE Shopping Mall located next to Chungking Mansions at 36 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, at around 3.35pm today. The robbers brandished knives and stole around 50 watches worth over HK$10 million and around HK$37,000 in cash before escaping in a Black Alphard private car waiting outside. The shop assistant immediately called the police, who arrived at the scene and launched a manhunt for the culprits in the nearby area. RWW Watch Company specialises in second-hand Rolex watches and other brands.

The police responded quickly to the incident and arrived at the scene of the crime within minutes of receiving the call from the shop assistant. Upon reaching the location, they found that the robbers had already fled the scene.

According to reports, four robbers dressed in yellow striped reflective clothing, with two of them wearing construction helmets, to disguise themselves as construction workers. The robbers also stole one mobile phone of an employee. Investigators tracked the signal of the phone and located it near The Waterfront, close to the MTR Kowloon Station. One employee revealed that the four of them spoke fluent Cantonese.

The owner and staff of a luxury watch store were left in shock after a brazen robbery took place in broad daylight. According to the store manager, the incident has left staff members sleepless and shaken up. As a result, the owner has decided to temporarily close all of the store’s branches. The stolen watches and their serial numbers have been listed online, and the public has been warned to be cautious when purchasing second-hand watches.

The store manager stated that the majority of the stolen items were among the most expensive items in the store. The incident has caused significant financial loss to the business, as well as emotional trauma to the staff.
