25th May 2023 – (Hong Kong) At around 9pm today, police received a report of four men wielding knives and attacking a middle-aged man on Sai Yu Street in Yuen Long. The attackers fled the scene in a vehicle after committing the crime.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the victim conscious. After administering first aid, the victim was transported by ambulance to Pok Oi Hospital for further treatment. Law enforcement officers cordoned off the area for investigation and are currently pursuing the suspects.
According to reports, the victim had just finished dining at a nearby restaurant and was ambushed by the attackers as he walked towards the intersection of Kau Yuk Road and Sai Yu Street.
Footage from a dashboard camera shows the victim walking towards the intersection when the four attackers suddenly charged at him, inflicting wounds with their knives. The victim attempted to flee but was chased down and attacked again on Kam Fai Path before collapsing. The attackers fled the scene in a waiting car on Kau Yuk Road.
The motive behind the attack is unknown at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
