39-year-old woman becomes the latest COVID-19 patient in Hong Kong


27th June 2020 – (Hong Kong)     The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health has announced that as of 4pm today, the CHP was investigating an additional confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), taking the number of cases to 1,198 in Hong Kong so far (comprising 1,197 confirmed cases and one probable case).
The newly reported case announced today involve a 39-year-old female who had a travel history during the incubation period. The CHP’s epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed case are ongoing.

As at noon today (June 27), four COVID-19 confirmed patients (case numbers: 1071, 1085, 1105 and 1111) were discharged from hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 1,095 patients with confirmed or probable infections have been discharged.

At present, there are 602 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1,170 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 95 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in nine hospitals, among which one patient is in critical condition (case number: 595), and the remaining 94 patients are in stable condition.
