24th November 2022 – (Hong Kong) A 34-year-old registered female nurse working in a community vaccination centre admitted that she failed to vaccinate 6 citizens from 2 families, but issued vaccination records to them. She and a 42-year-old housewife who obtained false vaccination records had earlier pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud. Two other defendants in the same case pleaded not guilty and were supposed to face trial today. However, the presiding magistrate was unable to handle the case because she became a close contact with a COVID-19 patient, so the case has been adjourned until 2nd December for sentencing and ruling. The housewife’s parents and foreign domestic helper Marcelo Mary Ann Villeza were also charged, but were allowed to sign binding over order earlier. After pleading guilty, the housewife has been released on bail pending sentencing, while the nurse Ho, is still remanded in custody. She applied for bail today pending sentencing, but was rejected. The other two defendants in the case are 2 women who are sisters, 30-year-old personal tutor and 25-year-old primary teacher. They pleaded not guilty.
