6th June 2023 – (Hong Kong) A man was arrested yesterday for brandishing a knife in an altercation with another man outside a street vendor on Ho Pui Street, Kwai Chung. Passersby quickly reported the incident to the police, who were able to apprehend the suspect at the scene. Following an investigation, the 33-year-old man was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and is scheduled to appear in the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts on today.
Video footage provided by a reader of an online news outlet showed a man wearing glasses and holding a vegetable knife engaged in a verbal altercation with a male employee of a street vendor at the location. The suspect was seen making threatening gestures with the knife, and the video ended before the incident was resolved. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers were able to disarm the suspect without incident and took him into custody.
