8th November 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 4am today, a 25-year-old man driving a BMW 4-wheel-drive vehicle on Tsing Long Highway towards Yuen Long lost control after passing the Toll Plaza. He hit a traffic cone placed 100 metres on the right lane before ramming into the rear of an engineering vehicle. A 32-year-old contractor in reflective vest was sandwiched in between the BMW and the engineering vehicle. His body was halved and he died on the spot.
Rescue team arrived at the scene to cover the body. The driver of the BMW did not sustain any injuries and he was detained to facilitate investigations. After conducting a breathalyser test at the police station, he was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and drunk driving. The traffic around the area was affected after the accident took place.
