3-vehicle collision on Prince Edward Road West causes injury and severe traffic congestion in Mong Kok

3rd September 2026 – (Hong Kong) At 10.09am this morning, a collision involving three vehicles occurred on Prince Edward Road West near its junction with Sai Yee Street in Mong Kok. The incident involved a BMW iX1, a box truck and a bus. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide assistance. A middle-aged female passenger in the private car sustained a head injury and, while conscious, was taken by ambulance to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment.

The Transport Department has since announced that, due to the accident, part of the carriageway of Prince Edward Road West in the direction of Tai Kok Tsui near Sai Yee Street has been closed to traffic. Motorists are restricted to the remaining available lanes, resulting in significant congestion in the area. Traffic remains heavy as authorities attend to the aftermath of the collision.
