28-year-old male protester found not guilty by jury for causing death of 60-year-old man during queue at Central Ferry Terminal


17th January 2022 – (Hong Kong) After a 28-year-old male salesperson, Leung participated in an anti-government rally on Hong Kong Island on 16th June 2019. When he was queuing for a ferry ride at the Central Ferry Terminal, he saw a 63-year-old man who was about to jump queue and started to engage in a feud with him. He claimed that the other party was aggressive and he pushed him to the ground.

When the 63-year-old man fell to the ground, he sustained head injuries. He was then sent to the hospital for treatment and died 2 days later. The salesperson denied manslaughter, and the jury ruled the salesperson not guilty today (17th) with a 6 to 1 ratio after deliberation.
