27,847 new local COVID-19 cases reported in Mainland, negative nucleic acid test rest results not required for Beijing residents when entering community


6th December 2022 – (Beijing) The National Health Commission reported on Tuesday (6th) that there were 27,847 new local COVID-19 cases in the Mainland two days ago, with 4,988 confirmed cases and 22,859 asymptomatic infections. There were 5,541 new local cases in Guangdong Province, most of which were asymptomatic infections. In Beijing, there were 4,666 more local cases. Starting from Tuesday, when people enter various public places such as shopping malls, supermarkets, and commercial buildings, they will not be required to show their nucleic acid test results.

The Beijing Municipal Epidemic Prevention Department announced on Tuesday that people entering the community do not need to produce negative nucleic acid test rest results while permanent residents do not need to scan health codes. When people enter confined places such as Internet cafes, bars and restaurants, they still need to scan health codes and produce 48-hour nucleic acid test negative results.

The press conference on epidemic prevention in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province mentioned that clinics should be set up as many as possible, and treatment should be done quickly to speed up recovery. Zhang Yi, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, said that the construction of medical treatment capabilities will be strengthened, treatment resources at all levels and types will be expanded, a hierarchical and classified diagnosis and treatment plan will be formulated, and training for all medical personnel will be strengthened. In addition, there were 577 new local cases in Shanghai, 14 of whom were discovered from social nucleic acid tests.
