24-year-old single mother interviewed on TVB show condemned for using iPhone 11 and having 3 cats

14th January 2021 – (Hong Kong) Recently, a 24-year-old single mother was interviewed in the latest episode of the TVB program “Sunday Archives” focusing on “Young Mothers”. The 24-year-old single mother who is currently raising two children and three cats alone, receives HK$11,000 under Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme monthly, and she lamented her hard life on the TV show.

The 24-year-old woman has two sons, a 6-year-old baby and a 5-year-old baby. She became pregnant for the first time at the age of 16, and had an abortion at the request of her boyfriend’s family. After that, she became pregnant again but this time she did not tell both her and boyfriend’s parents. They are both not married to each other.

She explained that when she is unmarried, shee can have the custody of her son, but she might lose two children if she gets married. She confessed that her relationship with her boyfriend has not been stable. She originally thought that having children would make the relationship more intimate, but unfortunately, the two had more disputes because of the financial burden. Once, her boyfriend threatened her with a knife and her boyfriend allegedly abused her son. She subsequently left her boyfriend. She revealed that she only saves HK$1,000 per month and it’s not even enough to cover the medical fees of her children if they fall sick.

However, many netizens who watched the show criticised her for being insincere as she was spotted using an iPhone 11 and having three cats as pets. She was also using SALAD brand handbag.
