7th July 2022 – (Hong Kong) At 6.25am this morning (7th), a 23-year-old Indian man with a Hong Kong identity card was ambushed and beaten by 6 fellow Indians outside Cheung Sha Wan Wholesale Marine Fish Market, 38 Yen Chow Street West. and was later held hostage. He was taken away in a truck to 386 Tung Chau Street, Sham Shui Po. The suspects then pushed the victim out of the truck and drove away.
The victim injured his hands and shoulders and returned to the Wholesale Marine Fish Market on his own to call the police for help. The police arrived at the scene to learn about the incident from the victim, and later classified the case as “injury” and “illegal confinement”. The case was handed over to the Sham Shui Po Police District Anti-Triad Action Team to follow up.
The injured male victim was taken to Caritas Medical Centre by ambulance for treatment.
