25-year-old man dies after his car crashes and overturns on Clear Water Bay Road (Updated: 3pm)


5th December 2021 – (Hong Kong) At 4 o’clock in the morning today (5th), a man about 25 years old drove a private car along Clear Water Bay Road in Sai Kung towards Kowloon. When he approached the University of Science and Technology about 6 metres before the roundabout, the private car lost control and crashed into flower trough on the right side of the road, damaged a road sign before crashing into a tree on a roundabout and overturned.

The driver suffered a severe head injury and was trapped inside the car. Other passerby reported the case for help. The firefighters rescued the trapped driver and sent him to the hospital for emergency treatment, but died of his injuries. Police officers enclosed the scene of the accident for investigation.

Sources at the scene stated that the father of the deceased drove to the scene and rushed to the hospital to find out when he learned that his son had been sent to the hospital. By 6 o’clock in the morning, two friends of the deceased returned to the scene to learn about it. One of the male friends who had known the deceased since childhood could not stop crying on the spot. He said that the deceased had been engaged in car polishing work before his death and he was shocked over the incident.

The deceased was later confirmed to be the grandson of the late Shing Fui-On a Hong Kong actor, best known for his supporting roles in Hong Kong cinema. He had only one leading role in his entire career.
