2 women found dead in 2 suicides in Yuen Long and Kwai Chung this morning, man attempts to end life by burning charcoal in Sheung Shui

7th August 2022 – (Hong Kong) The police received a report yesterday (6th) that a woman surnamed Tang (46 years old) went missing after leaving her residence in San Sang Tsuen in Yuen Long. Police officers found the victim’s private car at the bottom of the Kong Sham Western Highway bridge at 6.54am in the morning today (7th). The victim was confirmed dead on the spot, and the police seized a suicide note at the scene. It is understood that she was affected by financial issues.

Meanwhile, at about 4am today (7th), a woman surnamed Ip (41 years old) was found lying unconscious opposite Fu Keung House, Tai Wo House Estate on Texaco Road in Kwai Chung. The security guard called the police for help. Paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that the female victim was dead. The police then covered the body of the deceased with a tent. After preliminary investigation, it was suspected that she fell from one of the stairs in the building. Police did not find any suicide note at the scene. It is understood that the victim was suffering from emotional distress.

Earlier at 0.38am today, an odour was detected a unit in a village at Tung Hing Road, Sheung Shui. Neighbours were worried that there was an accident in the unit, so they called the police for help. Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and the fire department officers broke into the door and found a man surnamed Tam (36 years old) lying unconscious in a room on the site with a pot of burnt charcoal next to him. The victim was unconscious and was sent to the North District Hospital for emergency treatment. Police did not seize a suicide note at the scene and are investigating the cause of the victim’s suicide.
