2 suicides reported in Shau Kei Wan and North Point within 1 hour

20th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) Two suicides were reported in separate incidents in Hong Kong this morning. At 8.01am, the owner of a car park at 12 Ngoi Man Street, Shau Kei Wan, reported to the police that suspected human remains were found among some debris in the back alley of the building. Upon investigation, a man’s body was found among the debris and was confirmed to be deceased. Initial investigations suggest that the deceased, who was around 50 years old, lived alone in the building and had a history of mental illness. It is not ruled out that he may have fallen from a high place.

Meanwhile. at 8.44 am, another report was received of an elderly man falling from a high place at the Dak Shing Building, Nos. 92-94 Java Road in North Point. Upon arrival, firefighters and paramedics found the man lying in the courtyard. The elderly man was confirmed to have passed away on the scene. The investigation team is currently trying to contact the deceased’s family to understand the situation.

The police have launched investigations into both incidents to determine the cause of death.
