2 suicides and 1 attempted suicide reported in Wong Tai Sin, Kwai Chung and Ma Tau Wai within 7 hours

13th August 2022 – (Hong Kong) At 10.18am this morning (13th), an elderly woman hanged herself in her apartment in Hibiscus House, Ma Tau Wai Estate, Ma Tau Wai.

Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the report, released the comatose victim before sending her to Kwong Wah Hospital for emergency treatment. The police are investigating the cause of the suicide.

At around 7am this morning (13th), a man was found lying unconscious in the multi-storey parking lot of Wonderland Villas in Kwai Chung. He was suspected of falling from top of the building. After the security guard found him, he immediately reported the case to the police for help. Paramedics arrived at the scene and carried the comatose victim Ho (51 years old) into an ambulance on a stretcher bed and sent him to Princess Margaret Hospital for emergency treatment, but he was eventually certified dead.

Meanwhile, at about 4am today (13th), a woman was found unconscious on the ground near Hing Tung House, Tung Tau (II) Estate in Wong Tai Sin. Paramedics rushed to the scene and certified the victim dead at the scene.

The police covered the body of the deceased with tent and sealed off the scene for investigation. It was confirmed that the victim, surnamed Chou (86 years old), was suspected of falling from a staircase in the building. The cause of death is under investigation.
