2 persons in charge arrested at party room in Kwun Tong for violating anti-epidemic regulations, 22 customers fined

20th June 2021 – (Hong Kong) The Special Duty Squad of Kwun Tong Police District and the Tactical Unit of the Kowloon East Region launched an anti-crime operation at about 11pm yesterday (19th). They raided multiple party rooms in the area and found one in an industrial building unit at 16-18 Hing Yip Street was suspected of operating illegally.

The police arrested two male persons in charge aged 39 and 32 years old respectively. The two persons were suspected of violating the Prevention and Control of Disease (Regulations and Instructions) (Business and Places) Regulations (Cap 599F). The two persons in charge, together with 12 male and 10 female customers (28 to 38 years old) in the party room, were suspected of violating the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Regulations (Cap 599G). The police issued fixed fines to them.

In addition, the police issued a verbal warning to the men and women because none of the men and women had shown the “LeaveHomeSafe” record and had not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
