2 persons in charge and 75 customers arrested at 2 unlicensed bars in Tsuen Wan and Kwun Tong


6th August 2022 – (Hong Kong) Two unlicensed bars located in 2 industrial buildings on Sha Tsui Road, Tsuen Wan and Kwun Tong Road respectively were raided suspicion of “unlicensed sale of alcoholic beverages”, “unlicensed possession of alcoholic beverages for sale” and violation of epidemic prevention regulations.

2 male persons in charged aged 21 and 19 were arrested.

Police also arrested 42 men and 21 women (aged 14 to 40) from the unlicensed bar in Tsuen Wan and took away 8 men and 4 women (aged 14 to 29) customers from the other unlicensed bar in Kwun Tong. The 75 men and women were also suspected of violating the “Gathering ban” and were issued fixed penalty notices. During the operation, police officers seized a total of about 99 bottles of spirits, 430 cans of beer and a batch of bar equipment in the two bars. The arrested men and women have been detained for investigation. The police will continue to employ an intelligence-led strategy against various triad criminal activities and their sources of income.
